Tasting Note Mosel Riesling Kabinett
Fresh, fruity, and subtly sweet Riesling. Pale yellow in color. With various fruits in the aroma: from lemon to exotic fruit, and from grapefruit to apples. Juicy in taste and light in structure (low alcohol percentage). Pale yellow in color.
Wine & Food
Mosel Riesling Kabinett is perfect as an aperitif! But also ideal to quench the heat or thirst. For example, on a sunny terrace or during a relaxed get-together. In terms of dishes: acidity is fine, something tropical is possible. From an exotic papaya salad to fish dishes, a Wiener Schnitzel with a generous squeeze of lemon, or a sauerkraut dish with sausage.
This Riesling pairs perfectly with Asian cuisine, delicious with sweet and sour dishes like "Koe lo Kai" (sweet and sour pork). It can also be served with dessert. Think of fresh, not-too-sweet desserts with white or tropical fruit. Great for the novice wine drinker.
Other information
Moselland is a modern wine company active in almost all important German wine-growing regions. Its strength lies in producing modern wines in a popular price segment.
Although the Kellerei Moselland is located in Bernkastel-Kues, in the heart of the Mosel valley, and although the name Moselland itself might suggest otherwise, this company has long since not limited itself solely to Mosel wines. Moselland is now active in almost all important German wine-growing regions.
As such, it can now offer a very extensive product range in various taste profiles, from traditionally mild to modern dry like Classic. The emphasis is on accessible wines, tailored to the taste and budget of a wide audience, but technically impeccably crafted.
No other river has had a greater impact on the evolution of viticulture in Germany than the Mosel. Since Roman times, vines have grown here on steep slopes surrounded by a spectacular landscape. The interplay of slate, sunshine, and vines creates a distinctive flavor profile.
First and foremost is the Riesling, which inspires wine experts from all over the world. The Riesling Kabinett is a wine that is still considered a somewhat dry type in Germany. In the Netherlands, with its 33 grams of residual sugar per liter, we consider this a slightly sweet wine. It has a modest alcohol percentage of 8.5% with flavors of grapefruit, green apple, honey, and peach. The invigorating acidity in the wine creates a beautiful tension in the glass.
