Tasting Notes Les Petites Jamelles Rouge
A vibrant red wine with a bright cherry-red color. The nose offers plenty of cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate, complemented by ripe dark fruit and a hint of spice. The taste is smooth and juicy, with a beautiful balance of roundness and freshness and soft, ripe tannins.
Wine & Food Pairing
Les Petites Jamelles Rouge is delicious with grilled chicken, herb-crusted lamb chops, lasagna with grilled vegetables, and penne all'arrabbiata. Also surprisingly good with a charcuterie and cheese board. The producer even recommends it with a dark chocolate brownie. Serve around 18 °C.
Additional Information
Special label: The colorful labels of Les Petites Jamelles are designed by French illustrator Aurélie Castex, who has previously worked for Hermès and Cartier, among others. The cheerful illustrations are intended to convey the joie de vivre of Southern France: sunny, relaxed, and made to be enjoyed together. Sustainability has also been considered: the labels are made from recycled paper and the bottle is extra light.
The grapes are fully destemmed before vinification begins. This is followed by a short cold maceration of a few days. By keeping the temperature low, excessive extraction of tannins is avoided. The result is a red wine that is primarily about fruit, freshness, and supple tannins, rather than power and weight.
The Jamelles winery was founded in 1991 and has made a name for itself both nationally and internationally with its unique handmade wines. The quality is exceptionally high, partly due to the unparalleled craftsmanship of the enthusiastic winemakers.
The two young winemakers Catherine and Laurent Delaunay are at the helm as the fourth generation. The unique aspect of this family is their use of different terroirs, through which they combine the unique characteristics of each vineyard in a special way. As a result, each wine is unique and of very high quality.

Fun Fact
The Les Petites Jamelles wines were deliberately developed as a modern interpretation of Southern France. The wine is also HVE3-certified, the French certification for agriculture with high attention to biodiversity and environmental management.
