Tasting Note Les Petites Jamelles Rosé
A bright, pale pink rosé with expressive aromas of redcurrant, grenadine, roses, and violets. On the palate, it is fresh and round, with a juicy red fruit character and a crisp, slightly mineral finish. An approachable rosé made primarily for pure enjoyment.
Wine & Food Pairing
Les Petites Jamelles Rosé is delicious chilled to about 8 °C as an aperitif. It also pairs very well with tapas, bruschetta with tomato, basil and mozzarella, a poke bowl with salmon, avocado and mango, grilled sea bream, or simply with pizza.
Additional Information
Special Label: The colourful labels of Les Petites Jamelles are designed by French illustrator Aurélie Castex, who has previously worked for brands such as Hermès and Cartier. The cheerful illustrations are intended to convey the joie de vivre of Southern France: sunny, relaxed, and made to be enjoyed together. Sustainability has also been considered: the labels are made from recycled paper, and the bottle is extra light.
The rosé is made using the direct pressing method. After harvesting, the grapes are pressed immediately, resulting in very little contact between the grape juice and the skins. This also explains the pale pink colour of the wine.
After pressing, the juice is carefully clarified (débourbage). Fermentation then takes place at a maximum of 15 °C. This relatively low temperature is deliberately chosen to retain as much aromatic freshness and red fruit in the wine as possible.
The winery Jamelles was founded in 1991 and has established itself both nationally and internationally with its unique handmade wines. The quality is exceptionally high, partly due to the unparalleled craftsmanship of the enthusiastic winemakers.
The two young winemakers Catherine and Laurent Delaunay are at the helm as the fourth generation. What is unique about this family is their use of various terroirs, which allows them to combine the unique characteristics of each vineyard in a special way. As a result, each wine is unique and of very high quality.
