Tasting Notes Les Jamelles Cabernet Sauvignon
This Cabernet Sauvignon from Jamelles possesses all the characteristic features of this celebrated grape variety. Aromas of blackcurrant and strawberry, beautifully combined with a refreshing, light note of green peppercorns and rounded off with spicy aromas such as cinnamon and mint. Also with that typical cedar scent that always makes wines from this grape so special. Silky texture.
Wine & Food Pairing
Serve Jamelles Cabernet Sauvignon with traditional dishes such as Shepherd's pie, beef stew, and winter vegetables. Owner Catherine Delaunay herself recommends serving it with Cassoulet, a regional culinary specialty from the Languedoc.
Additional information
The Jamelles winery was founded in 1991 and has established itself both nationally and internationally with its unique handmade wines. The quality is extremely high, partly due to the unparalleled craftsmanship of the enthusiastic winemakers.
The two young winemakers Catherine and Laurent Delaunay are the fourth generation at the helm. What is unique about this family is their use of different terroirs, with which they uniquely combine the special characteristics of each vineyard. This makes each wine unique and of very high quality.
Although they do not own their own vineyards, they work with fixed contracts for 400 hectares of vines. Strict ecological and quality standards apply here, such as sustainable viticulture and a careful selection of grape varieties per plot. The close cooperation between growers and the technical team is the key to the consistent quality of Les Jamelles. Their wines range from fruit-driven to more structured, but all share the same characteristic roundness and accessibility that makes Les Jamelles so beloved.
