Tasting Notes Les Bertholets Grande Réserve Chardonnay
Aromas of oak, caramel, vanilla and butter, lots of butter! The taste is full and rich with elements of ripe yellow fruit. A "thick" Chardonnay with sufficient freshness, spiciness, vanilla, firmness and yet sultry. Golden yellow in color. Cheers!
Wine & Food Pairing
Think of "fatty" dishes, such as salmon, mackerel and trout with a creamy sauce with a silky mouthfeel, or grilled chicken, avocado, marinated king prawns, Dover sole in butter sauce and tuna. The ideal combination with this buttery Les Bertholets Grande Réserve Chardonnay!
Additional Information
Roussillon-Languedoc in the far south is one of France's most exciting wine regions. Over the past twenty years, there has been an explosive growth in quality, which has not yet reached its peak. Many highly skilled, especially young winemakers, are therefore focusing their activities on this region to be part of the vibrant development taking place in wine here.
The grapes come from vineyards located in the southwest of France at the foot of the Pyrenees, blended with grapes from Mediterranean coastal areas. The grapes ferment for 12 months in French and American oak, after which the wine matures for another 6 months 'sur lie'. Half of the wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation, which preserves the natural freshness of the wine. Due to the early bottling of the wine, it retains its freshness and primary aromas.
