Tasting Notes Larue Puligny-Montrachet Le Trézin
The Larue Le Trezin Puligny-Montrachet is a very elegant wine with a beautiful acidity and good body. On the nose, white and ripe yellow fruit, minerals, nuts, truffle, spices, and a hint of butter. This is a rich, ripe wine from calcareous soils, and therefore possesses the beautiful minerality and saltiness typical of a good Montrachet. Light yellow color with golden accents.
Wine & Food
Puligny-Montrachet Le Trazin by Larue pairs well with fine fish, sole, turbot or brill, grilled or à la meunière. Lobster, scallops, or grilled veal are other excellent accompaniments for this magnificent wine.
Additional Information
Domaine Larue in Gamay has quickly gained an excellent reputation with their wines from Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet, and Chassagne-Montrachet, among others. In a light, traditional style, precise and not overly oaked.
Brothers Didier and Denis (and his son Bruno) Larue have their domaine in Gamay, a hamlet northeast of Saint-Aubin. The vineyards are therefore on the 'good side' of Saint-Aubin, namely on the side of Chassagne and Puligny-Montrachet. The family has owned vineyards for several generations, but Didier and Denis decided to start bottling themselves.
In a short time, they have gained an excellent reputation with an honest, pure, terroir-driven style at relatively good prices. Vineyard management is conscientious: pruning is short, and green harvesting takes place, resulting in low yields per hectare. Few pesticides are used, and harvesting is done by hand.
