A fresh, fruity, and surprisingly full-bodied Chenin Blanc from South Africa. The aroma features notes of green apple, lemon, pineapple, and blood orange, complemented by a subtle salty touch.

On the palate, the wine is juicy and lively, with refreshing acidity and a lovely round structure. The combination of ripe fruit, citrus, and a light minerality creates a pleasant balance. Thanks to maturation on fine lees, the wine also has more body and texture than one might expect at this price point.

A versatile white wine that pairs excellently with grilled fish, shellfish, salads, and Asian dishes. It also makes a beautiful combination with oysters and fish with a fresh citrus component.

Additional Information

The wine comes from the Western Cape in South Africa and is made from 100% Chenin Blanc. The wine is aged entirely in stainless steel, which preserves the fresh and fruity character of the grape well.

What makes it especially interesting is its maturation of approximately nine months on fine lees. This gives the wine more body, texture, and complexity without the need for noticeable oak aging.

After harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine then remains in stainless steel and matures for approximately nine months on fine lees. This is a lovely, classic approach for a fresh Chenin Blanc: no explicit oak influence, but extra structure and creaminess from the prolonged lees aging.

Chenin Blanc is arguably the most characteristic white grape of South Africa today. The grape was brought to South Africa by French colonists as early as the 17th century and has since developed into one of the country's most important white grape varieties.
