Tasting Notes for Invincible Numero Dois Tinto
This full-bodied red Douro blend opens with an inky color and purple reflections, followed by expressive aromas of black cherries, plums, and dark berries, subtly complemented by cloves, tobacco, and light vanilla from aging in used French oak barriques. On the palate, it is powerful and energetic: juicy fruit and firm, fine tannins provide structure, while a hint of chocolate gives the finish a refined touch.
Wine & Food Pairing
Invincible Numero Dois Tinto pairs perfectly with rich dishes: think of sirloin steak, lamb, or stews like Portuguese-Brazilian feijoada. Thanks to its concentrated fruitiness and firm structure, it is also an excellent match for game dishes and aged cheeses that harmonize beautifully with the tannins and complexity present.
Additional Information
The Invincible Numero Dois Tinto comes from the beautiful Douro Valley in Portugal. This region is known for its extensive vineyards, rolling hills, and innovative winemakers who skillfully combine tradition and modernity.
The wine is part of the "Invincible" line. A series of wines that present the best of Portugal in a contemporary style. The grapes are harvested with the utmost care at optimal ripeness, and quality is strictly controlled at the winery. Once at the winery, another selection takes place. After crushing and pressing, the juice undergoes fermentation, after which the wine finally ages for 18 months in French oak barrels.
This is a collaborative project between Rita Marquès and Marc Kent. Two souls from different parts of the world but united by one idea: to create refined wines. Together they feel invincible. And with this classic "field" blend (a nice term for all types of grapes planted together in the vineyard), they strive to prove it. It must be said: they are doing very well.
