Tasting Note Geografico Brunello di Montalcino
The Geografico Brunello di Montalcino is a complex and elegant red wine with aromas of ripe cherries, dried cranberries, and plums, complemented by notes of leather, tobacco, spices, and a subtle balsamic touch. On the palate, it is powerful yet refined, with firm but ripe tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, layered finish.
Wine & Food Pairing
Geografico Brunello di Montalcino pairs excellently with classic dishes such as ossobuco, bistecca alla fiorentina, or rich stews with mushrooms and game. It also makes a wonderful combination with aged hard cheeses and truffle dishes.
Additional Information
The wine comes from the prestigious Montalcino area, where the Sangiovese (Brunello) grape ripens optimally thanks to warm days and cool nights. According to DOCG regulations, Brunello di Montalcino must age for a minimum of 5 years, of which at least 2 years in wood and further bottle aging, which ensures its characteristic complexity, structure, and aging potential.
The company 'Agricoltori del Chianti Geografico' was founded in 1961. It was a cooperative that has since been acquired by Piccini. At Geografico, every vineyard that comes under management is evaluated by the geologist and the vineyard specialist. They advise on the best grape varieties and rootstocks. Subsequently, they help the owner with the vineyard setup and continuously with vineyard management. An expert winemaking team produces the wine.
