Tasting Notes Fiocco de Vite Brachetto d'Acqui
Exciting light red Italian. Subtly sparkling and mildly sweet. The aroma is full of supple ripe red fruits like strawberries and raspberries, but also floral notes (roses and violets) and a hint of yeast. With a slight bitterness in the finish. Light-footed and highly drinkable, thanks in part to the crisp acidity and low alcohol content of 5.5%. Intense ruby red in color.
Wine & Food
This juicy Fiocco de Vite Brachetto d'Acqui is delicious with chocolate dishes, such as brownies, Sacher Torte, and chocolate mousse. And of course, with sweeter red fruit desserts where strawberries or raspberries take the lead. But also wonderful to drink on its own.
Additional information
The origin of this wine is the Piedmont wine region, specifically the area around Acqui Terme in the province of Alessandria (and partly Asti) in Italy. The Brachetto d’Acqui appellation has had DOCG status since 1996, meaning there are strict rules for production in this area.
Healthy grapes are essential for this production process. This wine is created through a modern white vinification process; fermentation is stopped at 5.5% alcohol by cooling. This process takes place in closed tanks, which also retains some of the carbonation in the wine.
