Tasting Note Esporão Reserve 4 Vintage Mix
The Esporão Reserva 4 Vintage Mix is a unique selection of four different vintages of the iconic Esporão Reserva Tinto from the Portuguese Alentejo region. Each vintage has its own character, but all are characterized by aromas of ripe blackcurrants, plums, blackberries, and cherries, complemented by notes of vanilla, cocoa, spices, and subtle oak influences.
The younger vintages are fruity and powerful, while the older vintages develop more complexity, softer tannins, and refined notes of leather, tobacco, and cedar wood. A wonderful way to discover how a top wine evolves over the years.
Wine & Food Pairing
Excellent with grilled red meat, lamb, game, stews, and aged cheeses. Also delicious with an elaborate dinner or a wine tasting where the different vintages are tasted side by side.
Additional Information
The Esporão Reserva Tinto has been one of Portugal's most famous quality wines since 1985. The grapes come from vineyards around Herdade do Esporão in the Alentejo, where a warm climate and large temperature differences between day and night ensure optimally ripe grapes while maintaining freshness.
This 4 Vintage Mix contains four different vintages of the same wine. This allows you to taste not only the influence of the weather and the growing season, but also how the wine develops during bottle aging. The wine is made from a selection of Portuguese and international grape varieties, including Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez (Tempranillo), Trincadeira, Touriga Nacional, and Cabernet Sauvignon. After fermentation, each vintage matures for approximately twelve months in French and American oak barrels, followed by further aging in the bottle.
For wine lovers, this is a unique opportunity to discover the difference between multiple vintages of one and the same top wine.
