The Chardonnay grapes for this wine come from the cooler vineyards on the south side of Napa Valley. In this location, the ocean breeze and fog provide a cool blanket in the higher-lying vineyards. This allows the grapes to achieve a perfect balance between ripeness and freshness. After harvesting, 90 percent of the grapes are fermented in oak barrels. After fermentation, the wine matures in new and used oak barrels.
