The Chardonnay grapes for this wine come from the cooler vineyards in the southern part of Napa Valley. Here, ocean breezes and fog provide a cool blanket for the higher-elevation vineyards. This allows the grapes to reach a perfect balance between ripeness and freshness. After harvest, 90 percent of the grapes are fermented in oak barrels. Following fermentation, the wine ages in new and used oak barrels.
