The wine is rich and complex with an aromatic bouquet of blackcurrants, blueberries, dark chocolate, violets, and a hint of cardamom and toast. On the palate, the wine is delightfully juicy and rich, with recurring notes of ripe blackberries and berries, complemented by a touch of black tea. The wine features refined tannins and a lovely freshness in its long, elegant finish.

Duckhorn Vineyards was founded in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn in Napa Valley and has built a formidable reputation. Craftsmanship and quality are paramount, which is reflected in their varied portfolio of wines that mirror the unique terroir of Napa Valley. The winery uses carefully selected grapes from various vineyards to produce wines of consistently high quality.
The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for this wine come from various vineyards across Napa Valley. The great diversity in altitude, exposure, and soil types in these vineyards provides the wine with its complexity and offers a true representation of the character of this grape in Napa Valley.
The addition of a small amount of Merlot and Cabernet Franc makes the wine slightly more accessible and approachable sooner. However, this does not detract from the significant aging potential of this TOP-tier wine. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc grapes from the various plots are fermented and aged separately. Following the final blending, the wine is aged for 16 months in a 50/50 mix of new and used French oak barrels.
