The wine is entirely Estate Grown, sourced from its own vineyards and sustainably produced with respect for nature and terroir. A modern, elegant Chardonnay that showcases California at its best.
In 1972, Al Scheid first planted vineyards in what was then the unused and unknown Monterey County. What started as a grape growing operation that sold 100% of its production to other wineries has now grown into an absolute "premium player in the winefield"!
The Monterey region, approved as an official AVA in 1984, is one of the leading bastions of viticulture with its characteristic cool climate and home to some of the most amazing and sought-after Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays in California. With the chilly Monterey Bay at the top of the valley and two mountain ranges on either side, the Monterey AVA is characterized by morning fog, strong winds, cool temperatures, and abundant afternoon sunshine.
