This elegant Bordeaux from Château Puy Rigaud is very versatile with food: as an aperitif with toast topped with game or farmhouse pâté, or as a main course with hearty white meat, red meat, poultry, or game. It is also a perfect finish to a cheese board with cheeses such as Brie and Camembert.

The Montagne Saint-Emilion from Château du Puy is often called the ‘Petrus’ of Montagne because it possesses the luxuriously rich complexity of a top Pomerol wine with the same fleshy suppleness, depth, and length, complemented by the velvety spices and touch of Saint-Émilion. Furthermore, this red Bordeaux is, just like the famous Petrus wine (with a price tag of as much as € 3000 per bottle), also made from 100% old Merlot vines grown on a soil of limestone and rich ‘Pomerol’ clay in a mini-vineyard.

Château Du Puy is the old family castle of Château Lestage, situated on the peak (Puy) of the highest mountain in Montagne Saint-Émilion. Lestage manages a total of 18.5 hectares of vineyards, of which Château Du Puy and its mini-vineyard are the crown jewel. The average 50-year-old Merlot vines stand on a subsoil of marl, limestone, and rich clay, which bears great similarities to the famous soil of Pomerol. And the results are certainly impressive!
