Tasting note Castel Firmian Teroldego Rotaliano (0.375 litre)
A characterful red wine made from 100% Teroldego, the indigenous red grape of Trentino. The nose reveals blackberries, black cherries, blueberries, and raspberries, complemented by floral notes. Ageing in oak provides subtle nuances of cocoa and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, velvety, and beautifully structured, with ripe dark fruit and pleasant spiciness.
Food pairing
Castel Firmian Teroldego Rotaliano is delicious with stews served with polenta, risotto, grilled and roasted meats, grilled vegetables, and mushroom pizza. Also excellent with Italian charcuterie and aged cheeses.
Additional information
The grapes for this wine come from the Piana Rotaliana, the region around Mezzocorona which is considered the historical home of Teroldego. The combination of mineral-rich soils and the unique climate of the valley provides ideal conditions for this grape.
The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. After gentle pressing, the wine ferments with skin contact in stainless steel tanks. This is followed by maturation in selected oak barriques, preserving the typical characteristics of Teroldego.
Mezzacorona was one of the first cooperatives in Italy and currently represents a large group of wine companies from the far north (Trentino) to the deep south (Sicily). The vineyards of winemaker Mezzacorona are located in Trentino and Alto Adige, the region in Italy between Verona and the Alps.

Teroldego is so strongly linked to the Piana Rotaliana that the area's name has become part of the official designation: Teroldego Rotaliano DOC. The grape has been grown here for centuries and is considered one of the most important symbols of Trentino's wine identity.
