The wine is beautifully layered: ripe red fruit, plums, and blackcurrants. Exciting due to scents and flavors of spices and a hint of smoke. Full, round, with fine tannins and light wood. A surprising wine with a long finish. It is recommended to decant this wine an hour before serving.

Other information

Teroldego is only grown in Trentino, where the grape originated. The name refers to the Piana Rotaliano, an alluvial plain between the Adige and Noce rivers.

Vinification takes place according to traditional pulp fermentation. Matured in oak barrels for 24 months, of which at least 12 months in precious Troncais or Allier barrels.

Teroldego likely means something like "Gold of Tyrol." The name is associated with the German words Tirol and Gold. That fits well with the history of Trentino, which lay for centuries on the border of Italian and Tyrolean culture. The grape has been mentioned in Trentino since the 13th century.
