Tasting note Boutinot Les Cerisiers Côtes du Rhône rosé
A charming rosé with a pale pink color. The nose is subtle and expressive with aromas of strawberries, raspberries, rose hips, and rose petals. The palate is dry and refined with fresh red fruit, a touch of spice, and a refreshing finish.
Food Pairing
Boutinot Les Cerisiers Côtes du Rhône rosé is perfect for summer dishes such as grilled vegetables, salads with halloumi, Provençal chicken, or seafood. Or with poached salmon, Salade Niçoise, and tuna sashimi. Also delicious as an aperitif on a sunny day with some olives or tapenade.
Other information
This rosé comes from the Côtes du Rhône, near the village of Cairanne. Made by the renowned winery Boutinot, which is known for its terroir-driven wines. The cherry trees surrounding the vineyards gave this wine its name – Les Cerisiers.
Made using the 'rosé de presse' method as soon as the grapes are picked. Very gentle pressing extracts as much aroma and flavor as possible without any tannins. Naturally, it is then fermented at an extra low temperature for plenty of freshness. The result is certainly impressive.
The grape varieties are grown in vineyards with many large stones among the vines. These so-called galets have a special function. During the day, they absorb the warm sunlight, which they release back to the vines at night. These vines have it quite cold because of the cold Mistral wind.
