Tasting note Bio Wittmann Rosé Trocken
Juicy and inviting rosé, with a nose full of small red and dark fruits such as: raspberry and blackcurrant, complemented by spicy notes. Wonderfully juicy on the palate with beautiful, ripe acidity and a good finish. In the glass, we see a lovely pink color with a light orange sheen. A wonderful, high-quality dry rosé from Wittmann.
Wine & Food
Perfect as an aperitif! Also ideal for cooling down in the heat or quenching your thirst. For example, on a sunny terrace or during a relaxed drink. In terms of dishes, delicious with fresh fish dishes or salads.
Other information
Winery Wittmann is a true family business from Rheinhessen, located between the Rhine in the north and east, the Nahe in the west, and the Pfalz in the south. Rheinhessen is Germany's largest wine region.
The winery is very successful. Winemaker Philipp Wittmann has been named Germany's best winemaker twice by the German wine guide Eichelmann. The 15th generation is now already at the helm. Philipp Wittmann focuses mainly on winemaking and exports, his father Günther is still fully active in the vineyard, and his mother Elisabeth is in charge of sales.
This cheerful and lively rosé is made from the Pinot Noir & Sankt Laurent grapes. The latter might be a bit unfamiliar to us. You could say it is a specialty in Germany and especially Austria. Sankt Laurent is best compared to Pinot Noir.
Wine scores/awards 🏆
Named best white winemaker in Germany by the authoritative Eichelmann in 2003 and 2013. In 2014, he received the same title from Gault Millau.
