Tasting Note BIO Pizzolato Back to Basic Pinot Nero
The aroma is delightfully fruity with notes of berries, blackberries, and plums complemented by subtle herbal tones. This organic Pinot Nero has a light tannin structure and is pleasantly full-bodied with a nice acidity. The pleasant, long finish ensures that the wine's flavor lingers. It results in a beautiful ruby-red wine. Extremely suitable for chilling slightly even in summer.
Wine & Food
This Pizzolato Pinot Nero is perfect to combine with dishes such as risotto, roasted chicken with exotic spices, or dishes with red or white meat.
Additional Information
The Pinot Nero grapes are hand-harvested when optimally ripe. Then, the grapes are brought to the winery where they are destemmed and pressed. Yeasts are then added, and alcoholic fermentation begins. To give the wine a beautiful flavor and structure, it is regularly pumped over. After this, maceration takes place, followed by transfer to steel tanks, where the wine can further develop and refine.
Pizzolato, with its Back to Basic line, is strongly committed to environmental responsibility, evident in every aspect of production. The bottle is made from 94% recycled glass, and the 100% sustainable cork, capsule, and cardboard are made from recycled materials. This significantly reduces the CO2 footprint, which is engraved on the cork itself. Moreover, the label is made from 100% recycled Sabrage paper without plastics, sourced from waste from the cotton industry.
This jewel from Italy, made from organically and vegan-grown grapes, highlights the heart of Pizzolato's philosophy: returning to basics.
Brothers Ettimo and Gino Pizzolato lead the old family business Cantina Pizzolato. The company is known as an organically operating winery. Located slightly north of Treviso in Veneto, the company has been organically certified since 1991.
This means that no chemical agents are used, and instead, the power of nature is harnessed. For example, a good biological balance is maintained in the vineyard, and pests are controlled by natural enemies such as parasitic wasps and ladybugs. In winemaking, for example, no sulfites are added. All for an honest and beautiful natural product.
