Tasting Notes BIO Lunaria Ruminat Primitivo
This Primitivo from Lunaria has an incredibly broad aromatic palette. Lots of ripe black fruits like berries and cherries. The wine also has a hint of spice. The taste is sultry and at the same time smooth with lots of ripe red fruit. The beautiful balance between the sweetness in the wine and the fresh acidity is striking, which is characteristic of the Primitivo grape and very pleasant.
Wine & Food
Lunaria Ruminat Primitivo pairs very well with meat dishes and pasta with tomato sauce. This wine also handles dishes with cheese or richer flavors, such as a pasta salad with plenty of garlic, excellently. Enjoy!
Additional information
The vines for this wine are found in vineyards located 100 to 150 meters above sea level. The sea breeze brings cool air into the vineyard, effectively compensating for the daytime heat. After a careful harvest and selection, the grapes are picked and pressed. The skins remain in contact with the must and its yeasts for 20 days at a controlled temperature of around 25 degrees. Finally, this Ruminat Primitivo rests in stainless steel tanks, followed by bottle aging.
This wine has a Demeter certification, which stands for biodynamic. In biodynamic viticulture, artificial fertilizers and chemical pesticides are prohibited. People, animals, and the environment are highly valued. Attention is also paid to the connection between the earth, animals, plants, and the climate. The position of the sun, moon, and planets is considered. The interaction between all these elements plays an important role in the production of this wine.
Lunaria, of course, comes from "moon," an important celestial body in the biodynamic movement.
