Tasting Notes BIO Codorníu Chardonnay
Intensely aromatic with lots of tropical fruit and citrus notes. The round texture on the palate reflects the excellent structure of this wine. The volume, acidity and length are in perfect balance, while citrus along with pineapple, mango, and papaya notes come forward on the palate. No oak aging here, just Chardonnay pure and natural!
Wine & Food Pairing
BIO Codorníu Chardonnay is suitable as an aperitif but is even better with scallops and a beurre blanc with lime, grilled Thai prawns, or for example, a Waldorf salad. It is also a good accompaniment to a creamy risotto alla Primavera.
Additional Information
The Codorníu winery (founded in 1551) is a renowned winery in Spain and is especially known for its sparkling wines, but they also produce quality still wines like this Chardonnay without oak aging. Codorníu has centuries of tradition and craftsmanship and is still owned by the Codorníu family.
While Codorníu picks Chardonnay early for their cavas for the much-needed acidity, they now let the grapes hang longer for full ripeness. Sourced from an organically cultivated vineyard and vegan certified. Honest and delicious! 🌱
