Tasting note BIO Bucci Verdicchio Riserva
A complex and elegant white wine with aromas of ripe peach, citrus, white flowers, fennel, honey, almond, and flint. The taste is rich and layered, with beautiful minerality, lively acidity, and an exceptionally long finish. As the wine ages, notes of nuts, beeswax, and dried fruit develop. This wine is already impressive, but it will effortlessly evolve for 15 to 25 years in the bottle. Some top vintages even remain in optimal condition for longer.
Wine & Food Pairing
This exceptional Verdicchio Riserva pairs beautifully with lobster, scallops, turbot, monkfish, and other luxurious fish dishes. It also makes a splendid combination with truffle risotto, poultry, veal, and refined mushroom dishes. Thanks to its structure, this wine can even accompany light game dishes.
Additional information
The BIO Bucci Verdicchio Riserva is an organic white wine from the renowned wine region of Castelli di Jesi in the Italian Marche region. The Bucci winery has been among Italy's absolute best for years and is known for its elegant Verdicchio wines with great finesse, minerality, and excellent aging potential.
The wine is exclusively made in the best vintages from old, organically farmed vineyards. Thanks to low yields, careful selection, and long aging, a Verdicchio of exceptional class is created, which continues to develop beautifully for years.
The grapes are hand-harvested and exclusively selected from the best plots. After a slow fermentation, the wine ages for about a year and a half on its fine lees, followed by a long bottle aging before it is released to the market. This gives the wine its characteristic complexity, depth, and impressive aging potential.
Verdicchio has been cultivated in the Marche for centuries and is among the most characterful indigenous white grape varieties in the country. The name is derived from verde (green), a reference to the light green shimmer that the wine often retains, even after several years of bottle aging.
Fun fact:
Verdicchio is one of the few white wines that can age beautifully. While many white wines are meant to be drunk young, a quality wine like Bucci's develops extra complexity with notes of honey, almond, and spices after a few years. This is precisely why Verdicchio is considered by many wine lovers to be one of the most beautiful white wines of Italy.
