Tasting Notes BIO Bucci Verdicchio Classico
An elegant and refined white wine with aromas of ripe apple, citrus, white flowers, and a hint of almond. The taste is fresh and mineral, with a beautiful structure, lively acidity, and a long, harmonious finish. As the wine ages, it develops more complexity with notes of honey, nuts, and herbs.
Wine & Food Pairing
This Verdicchio is delicious as an aperitif and pairs excellently with grilled fish, shellfish, seafood risotto, and light pasta dishes. It also forms a wonderful combination with chicken, veal, or young, creamy cheeses.
Additional Information
The BIO Bucci Verdicchio Classico is an organic white wine from the renowned wine region of Castelli di Jesi in the Italian Marche region. The Bucci winery has been among Italy's absolute best for years and is known for its elegant Verdicchio wines with great finesse, minerality, and excellent aging potential. The wine comes from organically certified vineyards and is mostly aged in stainless steel tanks, preserving the pure character of the Verdicchio grape.
The grapes are hand-harvested and vinified separately per vineyard. After gentle pressing, the must ferments at a controlled temperature. The different plots are later blended to form one harmonious wine. By aging without new wood, the freshness, minerality, and fruit are optimally preserved.
Verdicchio has been cultivated in the Marches for centuries and is one of the country's most characterful indigenous white grapes. The name is derived from verde (green), a reference to the light green shimmer the wine often retains, even after several years of bottle aging.
Fun fact:
Verdicchio is one of the few white wines that can age beautifully. While many white wines are meant to be drunk young, a quality wine like Bucci's develops extra complexity with notes of honey, almond, and herbs after several years. This is precisely why Verdicchio is considered by many wine lovers to be one of the most beautiful white wines of Italy.
