The Jesus del Perdon cooperative in Manzanares was founded in 1954 in the northeast by 102 winegrowers. In 2000, it merged with two other cooperatives in the region, resulting in one large cooperative with 700 winegrowers and a total production of 25 million kilos of grapes. In recent years, significant investments have been made in winemaking techniques. They own 3600 hectares of vineyards, cultivating mainly Airen, but also Macabeo, Chardonnay, and Cencibel.
The grapes for Jesus del Perdon wines grow in La Mancha, a historic region in Spain. La Mancha comprises the central high plateau, south of the capital Madrid, situated between the Toledo mountains, Cuenca, and Sierra Morena.
Due to the warm climate and the use of modern techniques, high-quality organic wines can be produced. The vineyard requires minimal treatment here, thus saving the soil from chemical pesticides.
