The Jesus del Perdon cooperative in Manzanares was founded in 1954 in the northeast by 102 winegrowers. In 2000, it merged with two other cooperatives in the region, resulting in one large cooperative with 700 winegrowers and a total production of 25 million kilograms of grapes. In recent years, significant investments have been made in winemaking techniques. They have 3600 hectares of vineyards, where, in addition to mainly Airen, they also cultivate Macabeo, Chardonnay, and Cencibel, as well as Tempranillo, Merlot, and Syrah.
The grapes for Jesus del Perdon wines grow in La Mancha, a historic region in Spain. La Mancha encompasses the central high plateau, south of the capital Madrid, located between the Toledo mountains, Cuenca, and Sierra Morena. Due to the warm climate and the use of modern techniques, high-quality organic wines can be produced. The vineyard requires little treatment here, which saves chemical pesticides for the soil. Made from 100% organic Merlot grapes and has an alcohol content of 13%.
