Tasting Notes Dumnacus Muscadet Sèvre et Maine
The nose offers fresh aromas of grapefruit, lime, and white blossoms, complemented by subtle notes of fresh bread and a saline minerality reminiscent of ocean air. On the palate, it is fresh, light, and vibrant with high acidity. Flavor notes of citrus, green apple, and a soft yeast tone (dough) provide both tension and refinement. Thanks to aging on lees, the wine has a pleasant, round mouthfeel without becoming heavy. The finish is dry, mineral, and slightly salty. Perfectly thirst-quenching and invigorating. Crisp and fresh!
Wine & Food Pairing
Dumnacus Muscadet Sèvre et Maine is the perfect pairing with: mussels, fresh oysters, shellfish such as clams, and Dover sole. Also excellent with grilled sardines, marlin, as well as soft goat cheese. Its minerality and freshness make it suitable as an aperitif and with light fish dishes.
Additional Information
Is Muscadet old-fashioned and outdated? Absolutely not! Here is proof of its revival. Dumnacus shows that Melon de Bourgogne is a unique grape, with character and finesse, especially when aged 'sur lie'. This wine comes from the Loire, the heart of the Muscadet region: Sèvre et Maine, where the granite and gneiss soils provide that characteristic minerality. This is the perfect wine for those who appreciate crisp, vibrant, and energetic wines.
Did you know: The name Dumnacus refers to the Gallic hero from the Anjou region and symbolizes resistance to standardization: chosen as a recognizable emblem for artisanal winemaking.
