Tasting Notes Larue Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Boudriotte rouge
The Larue Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Boudriotte rouge 2021 is a brilliant red Burgundy that combines power with elegance and freshness. On the nose, small red fruit, nuts, undergrowth, and spice. On the palate, a beautiful concentration, yet elegant due to its wonderful acidity, with beautifully ripe tannins and minerals. Very long finish. Light red color.
Wine & Food Pairing
This Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Boudroitte Larue pairs fantastically with beef bourguignon, poultry, pork, soft white cheeses, pâté, mushrooms, and truffle risotto.
Additional Information
Domaine Larue in Gamay has quickly gained an excellent reputation for their wines from Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet, and Chassagne-Montrachet, among others. In a light, traditional style, precise and not overly oaked.
Brothers Didier and Denis (and his son Bruno) Larue have their domaine in Gamay, a hamlet northeast of Saint-Aubin. The vineyards are therefore on the 'good side' of Saint-Aubin, namely on the side of Chassagne and Puligny-Montrachet.
The domaine produces not only a lot of Saint-Aubin but also wines from Chassagne and Puligny-Montrachet, appellations that capture the imagination more because the world's best white wines are made there. The family has owned vineyards for several generations, but Didier and Denis decided to start bottling themselves.
In a short time, they have gained an excellent reputation with an honest, pure, terroir-driven style at relatively good prices. Vineyard management is conscientious: pruning is short, and green harvesting is performed, so the yield per hectare is low. Few pesticides are used, and harvesting is done by hand.
