Tasting Notes BIO La Suffrene Bandol Rosé
The BIO La Suffrène Bandol Rosé is a gastronomic rosé with a beautiful salmon-pink color and a refined aroma of citrus fruit, ripe peach, red berries, and white flowers, complemented by subtle notes of fennel, anise, and Provencal herbs. On the palate, the wine is full and intense, with a lovely minerality, lively acidity, and a long, elegant finish where fruit, spiciness, and freshness perfectly combine. This rosé can rightly be called the calling card of the house!
Wine & Food
This Bandol Rosé is an excellent accompaniment to grilled fish, shellfish, Mediterranean dishes, and Salade Niçoise. Thanks to its robust structure, it also pairs beautifully with grilled chicken, Oriental dishes, and summer barbecue dishes.
Additional information
Domaine La Suffrène is located in the prestigious Bandol appellation in Provence, one of France's most renowned rosé regions. Since 1996, winemaker Cédric Gravier has been at the helm of this family estate, where old vines on calcareous and clayey slopes close to the Mediterranean Sea produce wines with depth, minerality, and a distinct terroir character. The estate works according to organic principles and produces wines that are among the references of the Bandol appellation.
The wine is made from a classic Bandol blend of mainly Mourvèdre, supplemented with Cinsault, Grenache, and Carignan. After harvesting, the grapes are carefully selected and fermented at low temperatures to preserve maximum freshness and aromatic expression. Malolactic fermentation is deliberately avoided, ensuring the wine retains its lively acidity. Subsequently, the wine matures on fine lees, which adds extra complexity and structure.
