Montes Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon is made from strictly selected Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the slopes of Marchigüe and especially the steep Apalta vineyard in Colchagua Valley on the Tinguiririca river. Here, the grapes benefit from an excellent microclimate, with poor soil mainly of granite with some clay.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe wine undergoes approximately eight months of aging in French oak. This creates the characteristic notes of vanilla, smoke, cedar, and sweet spices, while preserving the fruit and structure of the Cabernet Sauvignon.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eMontes also works with a so-called water-saving winegrowing system.
