It is said to have received its name from a certain Brulius, a lieutenant in the Imperial Roman legion. Thorin's history dates back more than 1500 years! The name likely appeared in the Beaujolais region as early as 457 AD. And even originally came from Bornholm in Denmark when they were still called Thores.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe origin of the Thorin winery is thus linked to that of a hamlet founded by the Burgundian Thores and the village of Romanèche, which later became known as Romanèche-Thorins.
