Another portion is dried for some time to achieve a more concentrated, slightly sweet taste (the appassimento or ripasso method). \"Siccari\" therefore means \"dried\" or \"laid out to dry.\" Only then are these grapes fermented, and the two parts are blended. Finally, the wine matures in 3000-liter Slavonian oak barrels. The result is a concentrated, ripe, and luscious red wine with notes of: red berries, herbs, coffee, and chocolate.
